Bio

I developed my passions for modern design and art growing up in Detroit in the 1980's. Spending weekends exploring the Detroit Art Institute, Cranbrook Museum and Academy grounds, and Detroit's post-apocalyptic downtown landscape... taking pictures, painting and sculpting with clay. I was always fascinated with cars, both the design and function, which translated years later into restoring an old Porsche 911 in my spare time.
When I was 18, I was offered, and accepted a scholarship to the Savannah College of Art and Design... Probably because it was the furthest and most foreign place I could find outside of Detroit. I literally got on a plane and moved there without ever seeing the place. I dabbled in Design, Painting, Illustration, Music & Video, before finally finding my perfect match in Photography. Savannah had such a surreal side in the early 90's. Just begging to be documented... It was an creative island existing almost completely unaware of the outside world. Stuck somewhere between 1860 and 1969. This created an incredible environment of inspiration. In the years after, my desires to document my surroundings, and love of design have led me to my current path of shooting lifestyle, and interiors. I see myself in the future exploring video and motion film and incorporating them into my business.
My production crew and I create striking, dramatic images for some of the world's best known brands - specializing in consumer home products, large sets, lifestyle, and still life photography. With top of the line digital equipment, an 8000 square foot studio, in-house pre-press, and carpentry shop. My studio can provide complete production support for all types of projects. I have been shooting digitally for over 15 years. Having embraced the technology many years ago - a technology that most Photographers have only just recently adopted. I work from a strong background in Pre-press and Printing technologies; insuring seamless and beautiful press-ready images.
Many years of experimentation with lighting techniques and situations have helped to evolve my commercial work into much more than the typical. Giving me the reputation as someone who will master the situation and create beautiful work, taking images way beyond the constraints of the corporate world.
